A simple yet warm-hearted birthday party organised by a bunch of friends at Nahri's place.... I was so touch.....!!! Thanks friends....

It was also Olympic's Opening that night.... I was asked to be at the place no matter what... Reason?

Well, I am not that stupid... hehe.... As expected, they planned to celebrate my birthday there... But what suprised my was.... my "cake"....

"Tada.... Happy Birthday Iris... We bought you ice-cream cake....."

"Err.......A tub of Conetto ice-cream?"

"Yea... Ice-cream....ca..ke.... Come on, just blow the candle... it's melting...! "

That was an unforgetable one..... :)

Another celebration at home together with my sisters... (All our birthdays are in August)

We had Mango Delight from Secret Recipe... Thanks dear.... :)

Though it was just a simple celebration.... But as long as the whole family can stay together.... It's already the best gift for me.....

I wanted to eat the big sweet strawberries....



I wanted to buy honey... I love honey.... (not bee)



I wanted to buy the fresh vegetables like an aunty.... Then I can make salad....


Sigh.....

But all my plan tak jalan.... cuz what???

One sentence from my bf.... "We go next time la...."

So, we end up going no where but KL...

We went to the property fair at KLCC...

We went to Sentosa, PJ for lots and lots of durian...



We subscribed Maxis Broadband...


We makan at Sushi King.... (I still prefer Sushi Zanmai...)

And... that's all we did....

I was given 2 free tickets for '21''s special screening at TGV Sunway yesterday. You probably know me, nothing goes to waste especially when it's free, why waste the chance? So, I went with my boyfriend...

We drove all the way down to Sunway, happily had dinner there, happily when into the cinema.... And it's like....empty??!!

So, we were like:
- Probably because it's free... (you think so easy to get free tickets ar??.....not many lucky people like me ok?)
- Maybe it's still early... (The show only starts at 9pm what.. Now it's like 8:30pm only)
- Or the movie sucks.... so no one want to watch.....

So, we waited..... Hoping that we could actually occupy the whole cinema... hehe...... But maybe we've put in too much hope....so we were dissapointed at the end.... sigh...

Ok, let's talk about the show...

"21" is the fact-based story about six MIT students who were trained to become experts in card counting and subsequently took Vegas casinos for millions in winnings. The show is about 2 hours length and it is directed by Australian director Robert Luketic and stars Jim Sturgess, Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth, Laurence Fishburne, and Asron Yoo.

Well, I personally think that the show is ok only lo.... 3 out of 5 stars...

Why?

I think it's because of the length.... A drama film without much drama in it looks a little dry in terms of its content.... especially when it's so long.....

The show is like this:

It spends about 75% telling how Ben Campbell were being invited to join the Blackjack Team, were being trained, were being brought to Las Vegas ..... blah di blah di blah..... And the other 25% telling us how he won a fortune twice and end up losing both times....

I mean of course I would want to know how much are you winning at the casino, how good are you in counting cards and all that in the film.... but please don't make it too long winded la.... I feel old in the cinema ok....??

Anyway, the above were only my own expressions/ opinions for the film and I mean no offense here.....(finger cross...hehe...)

Oh.. I forgot!

I've forgotten about the most important thing happened last Friday night....

Yes, after our drinking session at Finnegan, Kelvin Lim terrrr-masuk to the ladies... and we have video to prove that....

Friday.....!!! Everyone's favourite day of the week. Yup... it is also my favourite and the most 'looking-forward' day in the week....

What's so special about Friday???

OK, let's put it this way... I think, my Friday is different because...

1) Tomorrow is going to be Saturday...; YES!!!!
2) Tomorrow is not a working day... (for me)....; YES YES!!!!
3) Tomorrow I can wake up at anytime I want...; YES YES YES!!!!
4) Tomorrow I am only doing what I want to do...; YES YES YES YES!!!!
5) Tomorrow I am going back to Seremban.... HEY HEY..!!!
6) Tomorrow...... I am lazy....... !!!

Well, I think, one main different between my Friday and some "guai lou" (white guy)'s Friday is.... I am not getting pay on Friday... :(

Ok, yesterday was a different Friday for me.... How different??? Let's see...

I have back-to-back meetings from 2pm onwards.... It was a damn long meeting.... -_-''

"Nope, she was lost..... Still finding her way....."

***For all these nonsense, you must be thinking..."wa, must be a very important meeting..."***
***BUT, I am sorry... It was just a stupid meeting with less than an hour!!***

Well, you know Iris normally doesn't do much during her Friday night... She normally does nothing but staying at home.... But yesterday....

Yes, it was for the July babies in Fleishman-Hillard... and also, Serena's last day in FH. So, we celebrate! We went for dinner at Madam Kwan and movie at Signature...


WOW...The movie is fantastic man... I want the Batman's car.... actually... I want the bike more... hehe....

After that, we went to Finnegan's for drinks....

All I know is, he is definitely, surely, absolutely, certainly, and unquestionably a non-professional photographer.

Why?

1) He captured your picture when you are not ready.

2) He is not taking picture when you are ready.

3) When you haven't smile, he took already.

4) When you smile, he takes too long to focus already, and then

5) Repeat No.1 He captured your picture when you are not ready, and...

6) Repeat No.2 He is not taking you picture when you are ready..... then?

7) Repeat No.3 When you haven't smile, he took your picture already..... and so?

I was reading about my aunt's blog yesterday, and i found it very interesting and I NEED to share it with you guys.

It is a wonderful blog and it is different from any other blogs that you can find online. Normally when we blog, we blog about our life, our environment, whatever that is happening to us or our own opinions on certain issue. However, we seldom (or never) blog about the spirit of life, the merits of life and the meaning of life...

Recommending this blog to you simply because I think it will benefits all of us (including me, of course) in terms of our soul and spirit. Most importantly, we will understand why we are here and we will learn to appreciate.....

Do spend some time to walk with her and when you are able to understand the gist of it, you will find yourself ready in any situation without fear... but appreciation....

This morning, while I was chatting with my friend online, I asked if he is still looking for job. He told me that he is looking at working in Genting and keep on telling me what are the benefits working there.

'Though the pay is about the same as what we can get "on-ground"; however, you will have free accommodation, free food, free air-con, free transport.....'

'But.... No weekends eh....'

'Aiks... You gain something and lose something. For example, look at what you are earning and how much are your expenses; tell me now, when you can afford your own properties? Even if you can afford, how heavy is your burden then?'

'If you work in Genting, you can save about 70% of your every month's income. Tell me where can you get a "on-ground" job that gives you 70% more than what are you getting with your experience now?'

'But... No freedom eh...'

'Aiya... Why you don't understand one... Tell me what you do after work? Stay at home, watch TV? At Genting oso stay in hostel, watch TV ma...'

'But then... No time go back see parents, no time pak-to already...'

Well, I think everyone has their own choice. Obviously, he choose $$ and I choose freedom. But he had made a very good point though, he said he is not going there forever but only a few years. At lease save some money for backup wor.... Thinking back, yes, I have freedom, I have my weekends... But, let's say if something happen suddenly (touch wood! Choi! Choi!) I really got nothing to backup eh.... Anyone tell me is he right or wrong?

Night. While I was chatting with my housemate during dinner, I told them I met my aunt online today. Suddenly, they all stop and look at me like one kind and ask,

Then I was thinking, why can't a 56 year old aunt blog? Isn't we all emphasizing on live long learning nowadays? However, when I was helping my mum to prepare her school's exam papers......

'Why don't you learn how to use the computer?'

'No body teach me'

'Learn la... Use the old computer at home to practice la....'

'Headache! Sometimes single click, sometimes double click, sometimes left, sometimes right click....! Sometimes type one full page already, then don't why suddenly all disappeared. Learn yoga easier...'

Well, did you guys noticed that somehow the media tend mislead us (well, maybe me..) by profiling senior learning computer, senior taking bachelor degree, senior this, senior that.... Somehow causes me to forget that learning other things like yoga and baking could be part of live long learning as well.

Now I know why my mum likes to travel these days.... And come back telling me...
